Starting in 2026, Fort Wilderness Campsites Will Welcome Fewer Guests Per Site
Beginning January 1, 2026, Walt Disney World is tightening its tent strings at Fort Wilderness by reducing the maximum number of guests allowed per campsite from 10 to 8. This policy shift affects all campsite categories, including Premium, Premium Meadow, Full Hook-Up, Preferred, and Tent or Pop-Up options. Fort Wilderness Cabins, which comfortably house up to 6 guests, remain unchanged by the update.
Disney has yet to provide an official reason behind the capacity change, but guests booking for 2026 will find the new limits reflected in the reservation system. The update includes a clear distinction between 2025 and 2026 bookings to help guests plan accordingly. Larger groups eyeing a rustic retreat should consider booking multiple sites to keep the whole gang together under the stars.

Will this new limit shape your future Fort Wilderness group getaway plans?

This is an interesting decision. It won't affect me, but I can see some being unhappy with this change.
