Four Hartmann's Mountain Zebra Born at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is home to three different types of zebras: Hartmann's Mountain Zebra, Grey's Zebra and the plains zebra. Disney Parks Blog have just announced the arrival of four, that's right four, Hartmann's Mountain Zebra foals! We already brought you the news that Juno had given birth earlier in the summer, but the adorable youngster now has some company.

First up we have Aziza's foal, a handsome boy who was born on July 16th. Both mum and foal are doing well, currently spending sometime bonding back stage. You will be able to see them later on in the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.

Next up, we have Asha's handsome foal! ASHA, who is a first time mum, welcomed her son in the early hours of July 8th. Zebra foals are ready to run within an hour of being born, and he didn't disappoint. He was up exploring and having some milk before the keepers came around to hand out breakfast to the other zebras.

As reported earlier this summer, Juno welcomed her second foal. We can now reveal her name, welcome to the world, Cada! She's out exploring the world at Disney's Animal Kingdom alongside her mum and big sister Cricket. Cada has a very unusual marking on one of her back legs with a white mark within a black stripe!

Lastly, we have the oldest of the foals. Meet Penne! He was born on June 13th at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to mum Heidi. Heidi had her first foal back in 2020, a girl named Asha who you might recognise from further up the article. This means that Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to three generations of Hartmann's Mountain Zebra!

These adorable additions are fantastic news for everyone as Hartmann's Mountain Zebra are unfortunately classed as a vulnerable species. They now join over 5,000 other animals who call Walt Disney World home.

How are adorable are they?
