Why Disney World Single Rider Lines Are The Best!

If you’re not taking advantage of the single rider line while at Walt Disney World, then you’re doing it wrong!

What is a single rider line you ask? It’s not skipping the line, but a separate line on 6 rides at Walt Disney World. You’re helping Disney fill a space on a ride that would otherwise go empty. Who wouldn’t want a shorter wait time, right?

Single rider lines can be found at Test Track and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT, Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios.

One of the pros for me about the single rider line is that you can skip a large portion of the standard standby queue. Although on some rides this may mean that you might miss part of the carefully crafted storyline in the queue. For instance, you’ll lose out on a good deal of the carefully crafted backstory by Disney Imagineers woven into the queue at Expedition Everest. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been in the actual queue! If you’re okay with missing that detail it will significantly shorten your wait time.

A drawback of the single rider line is that you will most likely not be able to ride with your party. Single rider line’s main goal is to fill in empty seats of uneven parties. So don’t go in expecting to keep your party together. I usually have a goal of meeting my people at the end of the ride.

I absolutely love the single rider line during my solo travel vacations to Walt Disney World. I don’t have to wait for an extended amount of time in a queue by myself for some of the more popular rides. I save time knocking out those popular rides too, leaving me more time to explore each park.

As a solo traveler I also sometimes get skipped slightly ahead of other parties to fill a single seat on rides like Avatar Flight of Passage, Space Mountain, Soarin’, Tower of Terror, and many others. If you’re a solo traveler, you’ll want to listen to the Cast Members in the loading areas as they will often ask for single riders. I’ve lucked out several times on Tower of Terror and Space Mountain. There is absolutely no guarantee this will happen, but it always feels like a bit of “pixie dust” when it does.

If this is your first time at Walt Disney World, then ride with your family or friends. You’ll want to experience the queues and every detail they have to offer. As a first timer I’d also recommend using the Lightning Lane Multipass on attractions.

I’m a huge advocate of the single rider line to save time! If you find yourself either solo, or with others that don’t mind splitting up then definitely use the single rider line to your advantage.

Happy riding!

I agree, the Single Rider lines are excellent and can really save you a lot of time. Like you Jackie, I have many times been called forward for Tower of Terror. I actively listen out when I start getting close to the loading area. I wasn't aware that Remy's had a single rider line, so this is another great tip for my next trip.
