New details released for the coming update to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Hollywood Studios, featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu


The Star Wars Celebration in Japan just wrapped up and it brought some very exciting news about the update coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The update coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run at Disney's Hollywood Studios was initially announced at SXSW. During the exciting parks panel, we were told that the Mandalorian and Grogu, as well as a new destination, would be coming during an update that will open May 22, 2026. More details have now been announced about this update coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run.

Concept Art Shows The Millennium Falcon Travelling Through A New Destination

For the first time ever, the crew of the Millennium Falcon will be in control of their own destination! This will lead to potential new adventures on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor, or the city of Coruscant! This will hopefully make re-rideability of Smuggler's Run even better!

We previously knew that The Mandalorian and Grogu will be featured in the updates, but we now know that the Engineer positions will actually communicate with Grogu during missions!

More details of an exciting new storyline were also revealed and show how Mando and Grogu fit into Smuggler's Run. In the new storyline, Hondo Ohnaka has intelligence of a deal going down in Tatooine between pirates and ex-Imperial officers. With a generous bounty out for their capture, you borrow the Millennium Falcon and team up with Mando and Grogu to track them down across the galaxy.

The new adventures have been made possible by Disney teaming up with Industrial Light and Magic. Their help allows riders to be in control of their own destiny on this Hollywood Studios attraction!

To finish off the panel, their was a visit by BDX droids! They have already made their debut at Tokyo Disney Resort, but they will be making an appearance at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios soon for a limited time.
