Even the bats need their area updated every once in a while!

Ancient brick ruins with colorful prayer flags, pottery on a stone table, and a wooden cart. Lush greenery under a cloudy blue sky. The photo was taken at the Maharajah Jungle Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Disney has announced that the bat exhibit on the Maharajah Jungle Trek will be closing on Monday February 17th for a multi-week refurbishment. The enclosure is expected to reopen in early March.

There are plenty of other animals to see while wandering through the Anandapur Royal Forest such as gibbons, Eld's deer, blackbuck, Komodo dragon, water buffalo, and over 50 species of birds.

And don’t forget about the newest addition to the family, Bakso, in the Asian tiger exhibit!

I never realized how many spiecies of birds can be found along the trek! Sad I will miss the bats on my next visit but excited to experience all the other offerings.
